Rihei Fujimura served as a member of the prefectural assembly and Mayor of Nonoichi Village during the Meiji Period (1868-1912). He also established the first electric company in Kanazawa City, and built electric rice mills in Nonoichi Village. He contributed significantly to the industrial development of the region. In 1935, residents erected a bronze statue of Rihei Fujimura in the schoolyard of Nonoichi Elementary School. However, the statue was donated to the national government for its metal during the Pacific War, and only the stone base sites. This is currently located at Rokuraguchi Park.
