The Gotoke Monjo, a collection of approximately 1,800 historical documents passed down by the Goto Clan of Oshino Village, has been designated a cultural property by Ishikawa Prefecture. The Goto Clan was founded by Munetoshi Togashi, the third son of Yasutoshi Togashi. The clan fled from Kaga to Echizen Province to escape the Ikko-Ikki (uprising of Ikko sect followers in Kaga), but returned to Kaga afterwards.
Tahe-e Goto, the third head of the Goto Clan, reclaimed what is now Izumino-machi, Kanazawa City and founded a village. His contributions to the area included development of the Nagasaka irrigation channel in 1671. The Goto Clan residence was built next to Takami-Musubi Shrine. Of the residence, the only remaining structure is a storehouse.
